Molapo has sculpted two powerful, rearing rhinos on either side of an aloe frond to create these striking candlesticks. The bold composition speaks to both strength and presence, rooted in the natural forms of Southern Africa.
Sthabiso embellished the faceless rhinos with dynamic monochrome tones, accented by hints of red in fabric-like patterned designs. This painterly approach contrasts beautifully with the sculptural texture of the white clay aloe fronds, adding depth and vibrancy to the overall form.
These works resonate with a distinctly African spirit, expressing themes of resilience, power, and identity through form, pattern, and material.
